Trails Around Everest Region

Everest Region is one of the major Tourist attraction of the Nepal. The region provides the refreshing vista of Himalayan ranges, wilderness, rare plants, glaciers. And different peaks with their own natural beauty and magnetic properties of attraction. Furthermore, Sherpa people inhabited there along with their Sherpa/Tibetan lifestyle, rites and norms add spice in overall beauty. Different landmarks, and exceptional arenas, besides the Highest Mountain of the world. Similarly, Mount Everest fill the region with extra diversification which sweeps the feet and mind of all of its visitors. It is a full-fledged package which provides you overall experience in the lap of Himalayas. The Everest region is the number one trekking attraction in Nepal as well as in the whole world. It always stands in the Best Seller’s List within top 10 position. This region is the home to the many Himalayas and the Mt. Everest stands tall with pride. 

1. Renjo Pass Trail

Renjo pass trek is an amazing trek in the mountain region which takes you to one of the high mountain passes of the Khumbu. This trekking lies close to the Tibet. You can enjoy the beauty of the Everest region in its most refined form. The journey lets you immerse yourself in the many features of the  Khumbu including ethnic Sherpa villages of the region. It is as much a naturally beautiful trek as it is culturally rich. This has many highlights like famous mountain village of Namche Bazaar and Thame. Other many features include visiting Gokyo lake and Gokyo Ri.

Everest Chola Pass Trek is the combination of everything that beautiful Everest Region has to offer. This trek combines the Everest Base Camp Trek with Gokyo lake and Chola pass. As you walk along the trail to Everest Base Camp, you will experience the lush landscapes, forests, monasteries, local people, culture, mountain lifestyle, glaciers and glacier lakes. This adventerous trip offers you with the best views of mountains like Mt. Everest, Mt. Nupste, Mt. Lhotse. Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Pumori and many more. The trek starts from the bustling city of the Kathmandu valley to the peaceful and serene environment of the Everest Region.

3. Jiri to EBC trail

Jiri to Everest Base Camp trekking is known as the main gateway to the Mount Everest in the past. All the early expeditions including Tenzing  Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary also passed through this route. The trek to the base camp of the Mt. Everest via Jiri has become one of the most popular trekking routes in Nepal. But this trekking route is the longest route to the base camp so it is still unknown to the new expeditions. Due to the opening of the Lukla Airport this route has lost its significance.

But for the true adventure seekers, this route provides you with the most adrenaline rush feeling.  This fascinating trek offers a wonderful opportunity to climb Kalapathar Top (5545 m), overlooking the Everest base camp area, stunning views of the highest mountains including Everest, Lhotse, Nupste and Makalu. It also provide you with the opportunity to interact with the indigenous people and observe their culture from the close distance. It follows the same route taken in 1952 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Mr. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.

The trekking begins with the seven hour drive to the Jiri. The trekkers follow the spectacular route via Solukhumbu  area through the heart of fine Sherpa villages. This classic trek has got several numbers of attractions which are unique culture of the Sherpa people, other Himalayas and hills. The trekking take about 19 days from the Kathmandu valley.

4. Gokyo and EBC Trek

Gokyo and Everest Base Camp Trek, also known as Everest Circuit Trek, is one of the most audacious treks in the Everest Himalayas. It follows the path from Gokyo via high pass of Cho La (5330m) onto the Base Camp of Mount Everest (5364m). Enjoy the incredible views of Everest (8848m) along with numerous other peaks of Khumbu region, and discover the Buddhist monasteries situated at the world’s highest altitude. Gokyo and Everest Base Camp Trek is a 19 days long journey which starts from Lukla and follows the Dudh Khosi Valley to reach Namche Bazaar, the busiest junction for trekkers in the Khumbu region. 

Gokya and EBC Trek

The trek takes you through the trails of rhododendron, magnolia, and fir forests to reach the amazing Gokyo Lakes leading on to the Gokyo valley. The deep valley will leave you in awe with its pristine beauty, and the hospitality of the locals will make you feel like home. As you move up to the higher altitude, you will find yourself in the lap of mother-nature. The snow-capped mountains and the orange sky during the sunset/rise will make you want to never leave.

The trek continues to reach Gorakshep and finally Everest Base Camp, which will later be followed by the trek to Kala Patthar. After reaching the base of the amazing Mount Everest, get ready to be astonished by the magnificent and massive Himalayas of the Khumbu region. 5. Everest Three Passes Trek

Everest Three Passes Trek is one of the most exciting treks to the base camp of the world’s highest mountain, Everest (8848m). Moreover, it offers trekkers a lifetime experience amid magnificent geological setting and natural diversity. Everest Three Passes Trek is situated in the Everest or Khumbu region of Eastern Nepal. It is a trek to Gokyo and Everest Base Camp through the three high passes of Everest region: Renjo La (5360m), Cho La (5420m), and Kongma La (5535m). All three passes offer breathtaking views of massive mountains such as Everest (8848m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8481m), Pumori (7161m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Lhotse (8516m), Nuptse (7861m), and many other mountain peaks in the Khumbu region.

About the Trek

The 20-days Everest Three Passes Trek is a challenging and strenuous trek but worth every struggle for the exposure to nature and culture, it gives to the trekkers. The journey starts from flying to Lukla relishing the amazing snow-capped mountain views. Throughout the journey, the trekkers pass through several Sherpa villages, which give them an opportunity to meet friendly Sherpa people and understand their unique culture and lifestyle. The trekkers also pass through Khumjung village, the largest Sherpa village in the Khumbu region. The trekking route also passes through several ancient monasteries, which provides them with an insight of Buddhism in the Himalayas. Crossing the first pass, Renjo La (5360m) takes the trekkers to the pristine Gokyo Lakes and Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in the Khumbu region. 

The trail across the second pass, Cho La (5420m), leads to Everest Base Camp (5364m) and Kalapatthar (5550m), both of which provide an amazing view of Khumbu Icefall and glaciers along with the majestic Khumbu Himalayas. The walk across Kongma La Pass (5535m) marks the start of the return trek to Namche, Lukla, and then a flight back to Kathmandu. The three passes trek is the perfect combination of natural beauty with profound cross-cultural discovery.
