Kathmandu Valley used to be the combination of three city in the history. They are Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. The all cities have their own palaces. These palaces were built by Malla kings. Now these palaces are are the Durbar squares. These palaces are all now listed under UNESCO world heritage property.
Kathmandu Durbar Square
The Kathmandu Durbar Palace is located inside the New road. It is also known as Hanumandhoka palace. The place around is also known as Basantapur which is very famous tourist place. The Durbar square is rich in pagoda style temples and palaces. The historic example of art and craft. The palace area consist of the very famous Taleju temple which only opens once a year. There are piegons flying around the area. People feed those piegons and also enjoys taking photos with them. Traditional art and craft and thankas shop are around the palaces. The kumari house is also located in the Kathmandu durbar square.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square
Bhaktapur Durbar Square are is 13km far from the Kathmadnu. It is also one of the highly visited durbar palace. The Palace is also known as Kwopa. Bhaktapur is dominated by the Newar peoples. So the place is very famous for Newar culute and foods. There are lots of shops and hotels around the durbar area which offers the Newari culutre foods and stuffs.
Patan Durbar Square
Located in central lalitpur the Lalitpur Durbar square is also a famous touristic place. Lots of people come here. There is a museum where lots of historic things can be seen. There is also famous Krishna Temple in the palace area. This area is also dominated by the Newar people. The full area is dominated by the newar traditional houses.
