Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing

Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing lets you rejoice the beauty of Annapurna region of Nepal from the top of Tharpu Chuli Peak. Annapurna V, Mt. Machhapuchhre and many more. The Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing is a perfect combination of mountain glory and climbing challenge.

  This is the most fascinating experience in which through your entire journey you will always find the snow clad mountains in your backdrop. It offers the spectacular and stunning views of hanging glaciers, moraines, wild mountains and Annapurna Sanctuary. Climbing along the ridge of the peak is somewhat easy and somewhat difficult. . It takes you through the lowland villages occupied by Brahmin and Chhetri ethnic people.

Tharpu Chuli Peak Climbing

As the trek consists of climbing adventures, you should be physically and should have good endurance capacity. Before your climb, your team leader will give you some techniques on climbing and brief you about do’s and don’ts during the climb. All you have to do is follow the footsteps of team leaders and relish the beauty that the Tharpu Chuli peak climbing can offer. Prior experience of climbing would add to your climbing journey.

You can see views of the Annapurna range, the Dhaulagiri range and the Manaslu Himalayas as you walk on paths that reach the far northern peaks all the way to the Tibetan plateaus.  Encounter a wide range of culturally rich and ethnically diverse villages and settlements as you walk on the beautiful trekking trails through the very heart of the Annapurna region. Experience the differences on the terrain that ranges from subtropical woodlands to dry arid landscapes as you move higher.

Day 1 Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

The journey starts from the Kathmandu valley from where the bus ride of about 5 to 6 hours will take you to the beautiful city of Pokhara. Through this ride travellers can enjoy the scenic views of beautiful river valleys, alongside terraced fields of barley and rice and over green hills blanketed with lush vegetation. When you arrive at the Pokhara valley there you will witness the beautiful lakes, hills and mountain ranges. The travellers will enjoy the evening here and stay here for a night. 

Day 2  Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga

The travellers will begin their day with the ride from Pokhara to Nayapul. After a short walk along the banks of the Modi Khola, you will reach Birethanti, a large village with many shops and teahouses. From here, the trail continues through the village and follows the north bank of the Burundi Khola. The path climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1495 metres and after a short climb you will reach Tikhedhunga at 1570 metres. This trek is relatively short and easy, a prelude to the trekking experience in the Annapurna region.

Day 3 Trek to Ghorepani

From Tikhedhunga the trail crosses a stream on a suspension bridge near the campsite at Tikhedhunga. The trail ascends a steep stone staircase (which has about 3300 steps) to the large Magar village of Ulleri at 2080m. Above the village, the trail climbs gently through pastures and cultivated fields. The trail crosses two beautiful and clear streams before making a short and final climb to the Nangethanti. Thanthi is the Nepali word meaning ”rest house”. During the winter season you can experience the trail covered with the white and soft snow. From Nangethanti you will continue your climb towards the Ghorepani at 2850 metres from here you can indulge yourself in the spectacular panoramic views of Dhaulagiri I, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Himchuli and more. 

Day 4 Hike up to Poon Hill and onto Tatopani

The trek starts early in the morning and you will continue to hike towards the Poon Hill 3210 metres. From here you will see a superb view of the sunrise and panoramic view of the Himalaya, including Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt Annapurna South, Mt Fishtail and others. You will continue to descend to Ghorepani and trek towards Tatopani. 

Day 5  Trek to Chhomrong

The day starts with a steep downhill. After leaving the hot spring valley Tatopani you have to ascend steeply through forests and then trail eases as you reach Gurung which is the village of the Gurung people. Here you will be welcomed with the big smile by the humble and polite Gurung people.

Day 6  Trek to Dovan

To reach the Dovan it takes about 5- 6 hours to hike.  The trail drops down to the Chhomrong Khola and again you have to continue climbing to Khuldighar at 2380 metres where there is an ACAP check post. After this check point, the trek is a continuous descent to Dovan.

Day 7 Trek to Deurali

The day begins with the climb through bamboo, then rhododendron forests to Dovan, the Himalayan Hotel and on to Hinko at 3020 meters. The accommodation will be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko and is the stretch of trail that is most subject to avalanche.

Day 8 Trek to Annapurna Base camp

The hike to the Annapurna Base Camp takes approximately 5 hours. You have to climb the trails past the Machhapuchhre Base Camp to the Annapurna Base Camp. Since it is totally surrounded by mountains. This area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary. From here you can indulge yourself in the stunning views of the mountain scenery.

Day 9 Trek to Tharpu Chuli Base Camp

This is the main highlight of the trip.  The travelers have to struggle against the glaciated mountain pass and you can finally reach your destination. Sightseeing exotic ecosystems and breathtaking vistas of Himalayan peaks of Nepal can be equally satisfying.

Day 10 Summit Tharpu Chuli Peak and return to ABC

The trekkers ascend to the peak in the early morning. After strenuous ascend, you will scale the summit of the Tharpu Peak. You can savor the mesmerizing views of Annapurna Range from here. The travelers can taste the success of this trip after reaching the peak at 5653 meters and return back to the Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 11 Explore the Hidden Valley and trek back to Bamboo

The travelers can explore the valley full of lush vegetations, terraced paddy fields and rhododendron blooms. You can indulge yourself in the panoramic views of the Himalayas and landscapes. The small fresh water spring and cool and fresh breeze will take away all your tiredness. Then you will descend down the forests of Bamboos.

Day 12  Trek to Jhinu Danda

The hike to Jhinu Danda takes about 6 hours. The trail follows the narrow path with the lush green vegetation and paved roads. You can witness the sheep grazing on the grassland along the way. Finally you will reach the hot spring of Jhinu Danda where you can take a dip to wear off the tiredness from your body.

Day 13 Jhinu Danda to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara

The trek to Nayapul from Jhinu Danda takes about 5- 6 hours. Through this route you will pass by the beautiful village of Gurung people, terraced paddy fields and green lands. After this you will reach Nayapul and take about an hour drive to Pokhara. The remaining afternoon can be spent exploring the beautiful landscapes, lakes and hills of the city. You can also roam around the market area of the Pokhara in the night and get yourself immersed in the limelight of the city.

Day 14 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

It is time to bid farewell to the Pokhara valley and take a bus ride back to the Kathmandu valley. You can enjoy the beautiful landscapes, river valleys and clear sky through the window of the bus before reaching the city.
