It is because of this fact new trails are being identified, explored and promoted so Nagi-Narchyang Trek is one of the newly discovered trekking routes expected to offer something new to the trekkers. Natural beauty, rich culture, tradition and warm hospitality of local people encourage the trekkers to visit the area again and again. Here, we have provided guideline itinerary of the trip and we, Guide in Himalaya operates great trekking to Nagi, Khopra Hill, Narchyang Village and trip finally ends to Tatopani at the bank of Kali Gandaki River, there we can enjoy the relaxing natural hot spring bathe and get chilled with our trekking companion.
Annapurna Region is considered one of the busiest trekking regions due to its popularity due to series of Annapurna Massifs, unique culture, lifestyle, traditions and tempting landscapes since long but the trail is in risk, shortening day by day because of motor-able roads. It is essentially necessary to identify, explore and promote alternative trekking trails one after another. Trek Nagi – Narchyang, are new trails, expected to offer something new to the trekkers. The Nagi Narchyang trekking begins from Galeshwar of Parbat District and passes through Nagi, Narchyang and Tatopani before ending at Beni of Myagdi. Nagi Narchyang Trek is a community based trekking trail,developed as per the Eco- friendly concept. We can reach Galeshwor after a short drive from Beni, the headquarter of Myagdi.
The famous Galeshwor temple lies there which is the main attraction of this place. We can be at Banskharka village for the first night stay. There is excellent homestay management. There are Magar people settlements and the village is famous for orange farming. Nagi Village situated at an altitude of 2,300 m above sea level in Myagdi district. We reached Nagi via Dandakateri of Parbat district. The village is widely known as “The Internet Village”. Mahabir Pun is the pioneer to contribute to this remote village after he studied in the U.S. and wireless Internet has been facilitated under his initiation.
The community lodge with 10 rooms , has been built jointly by Local Community, UNDP/MEDEP, TAAN and NTB. This is the vantage point for the wonderful mountain views of Dhaulagiri I,II,III,IV and V, Gurja Peak, Annapurna South, Barah Himal , Nilgiri Himal and others. Nagi has possessed other attractions like Baraha Temple, Organic farming and hand- made paper production. Traditional Sorathi dance of Pun Magars is another magnetic thing for the trekkers.
You will have a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu valley which takes in the key attractions in and around Kathmandu. Including AM: Visit 2000 years old Buddhist shrine Swayambhunath. Moreover, it is situated on the top of the hill west of the city the most popular and instantly recognizable symbols of Nepal. The temple is colloquially known as the “Monkey Temple”. There are many small buildings and shrines down the hillside behind Swayambhunath.
Similarly, you can explore the colorful Kathmandu Durbar Square – The Old Royal Palace of Kathmandu. Temple of living goddess Kumari, the Jagannath temple, and 17th century temple known for colorfully painted erotic carvings,. SImilarly, Kasthmandap temple a three story temple built from a single tree in 12th century. Visit Pashupatinath temple, one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the World. The holy river Bagmati and the burning Ghats and also visit one of the oldest and biggest stupa of Boudhanath.
After a hot breakfast drive 200km to Pokhara and it takes about 6-7 hours from Kathmandu by tourist bus. Moreover, it is an exciting and romantic drive that we can enjoy beautiful scenic view of terraced. Such as, rice field, eye catching landscape, Trisuli and Marsyangdi Rivers and spectacular panoramic view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Lamjung Himal and most of Annapurna Himalayan Range are seen.
Today we trek to Banaskharaka which is a beautiful Magar village, population of 1550 and famous for orange farming.
Nagi Village is known as an “internet village”, old settlement, unique culture and tradition of Magar people. Similarly, the best view of Dhaulagiri range, Gurja peak, Annapurna south, Barah Himal and Nilgiri south.
After breakfast at Nagi, today we trek to Maharedanda at an elevation of 3300m. Moreover, we will enjoy the stunning view of sunrise/sunset along with 28 peaks in Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range from there at Maharedanda.
Today we trek to Tikot, a village which is situated at the altitude of 2260m from the sea level. Moreover, we trek through Dandakharka with a magnificent view of Dhaulagiri.
You will continue with your trek . Throughout the journey you will be accompanied by the beautiful views of the Himalayas.
From Kiwang, we trek to Khopra at the elevation of 3660m; this is the highest point we will sleep. Moreover, Khopra offers a superb view of western development mountain and Kali Gandaki gorge. The deepest gorge in the world. Gateway to Khayer Barahi Taal (lake).
Today, we made a day excursion to beautiful Khayer lake where very few people know about it. It is located at an altitude of 4800m above sea level, even higher than Annapurna Base Camp and the water is so clear. Moreover, it is said by the locals that leopards come there to drink water and there are beautiful birds that you can see. It is a 5 hours walk which is really worth doing.
We walk down through the pasture land. The landscape and rich vegetation has studded this area. The houses made of stones and mud plaster are attached to each other. There is also the dominant population of the Magar community in Narchyang, about 2600 people.
After breakfast, a hike less than two hours from Narchyang takes us to Tatopani. So, we descend down through the rough trail and explore the Kali Gandaki Valley, we can see the waterfall on the way. After crossing the Suspension bridge of Kali Gandaki River. Similarly, we arrive at Tatopani (Hot Spring). This is the major attraction of natural hot water.
From Siding, you will walk out to the road head at Lumre; on the way from Siding you will pass the villages of Kalimati and Ghalel. Kalimati is mainly a Brahmin village, while Ghalel and Siding both being a mix of Brahmin and Gurung. At Lumre, you will meet your jeep organized by your travel agency in advance to drive you back to Pokhara.
It is time to bid farewell to the Pokhara valley and take a bus ride back to the Kathmandu valley. You can enjoy the beautiful landscapes, river valleys and clear sky through the window of the bus before reaching the city.
