Maya Manor Boutique hotel is the historic mansion turned boutique hotel. The hotel is just a few footsteps away from the prestigious Durbar Marg. The original building of the hotel was built by the commander in Chief Toran Shumsher Rana and His brother Balram Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana in 1953. The mansion was under the control of the Government after the end of the Rana Regime. The Chinese Ambassador lived in this mansion for about 10 years. The Shakya Family of the KGH group of hotels brought the mansion and was their home until it was converted into a hotel in 2016 AD. The earthquake in 2015 partially damaged the mansion but was renovated. During that time a new block of seven storied buildings as the same old colonial architecture was added in the property to turn it into a perfect hotel.

It is nested in a manicured neoclassical garden. The boutique hotel is adorned with a Victorian gazebo, exquisite Rocco works and wrought iron verandas. It embodies the ideal of a quintessential Victorian-era architecture furnished with antiques, arts and artefacts.
