The Markhu Kulekhani is a dam reserviour pond located to south of the Kathmandu valley. The place is rich in its scenic view of its large dam reserviour. The dam also provides an enjoyment of boating. Markhu is around 40km away from the Kathmandu valley. The place is also famous for bike riding and hiking down from the Chandragiri hill. There visitor can enjoy the scene and get freshnes of mind. Visitors can also stay there in resorts to enjoy the overnight visit.
How to get there
There are two routes to get to the Markhu Kulekhani. The one is from the Thankot and Chitlang way and the next one is from the Pharping. Both the route are around 40km and also adventurious. People often go for picnic, boating, dating and camping. There are no public vehicle to reach Markhu but you can take private vehicle. Tourists can rent car or bike to reach there.
From thankot we must pass from Chandragiri Hill. And after the hill we move down towards the Chitlang village. The Chitlang is also a place of attraction. If you are going from the Pharping Dakshinkali way then you have to pass from Fakhel. This is more used by the visitors than the other one.
