Manaslu Trek is the closest and one of the astounding treks to Kathmandu. The trek circuit lies in Gandaki zone with an altitude of 700 mtr to 5113 mtrs. This circuit has the 8th highest peak in the world i.e. Mt. Manaslu.

This trek route is remote and in the route there live no permanent people. And it is the alternate route of Annapurna Circuit. It’s a seasonal route so local people come during that time only for their shops.

Features of Manaslu Trek

It’s one of the toughest, remote treks and it has been only 2 decades until it was restricted. This trek route offers staggering natural beauty of hiils, forests, rivers, flora and fauna. Moreover, many abundant animals has their habitat in this place and likely to seen. Snow leopard, blue sheep, mountain goat, himalayan marmot as well as Pika (highest living mammal) are found here.

Trek trail: 

• The trek is around 17 days.
• Starting from Kathmandu, it’s around 126 km to reach Soti Khola (Starting point of Manaslu Trek)
• Drive to west along Kathmandu- Pokhara highway towards village of Suti khola turning off to rural community of Dhading.
• Then to Maccha Khola.
• To Jagad.
• Jagad – Deng
• Deng – Ghap 
• Ghap – Lho 
• Lho – Sama Gaon 
• Sama Gaon – Samdo
• Samdo – Dharmashala
• Then to Bimtang via Larkya pass
• And to Dharapani
• Finally to Kathmandu.

During trek:

• The trek requires 3 permits.
• On the route, there are tea houses where we can rest . It’s basic yet comfortable.
• Views of Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Lantang can be seen.
• Trek is full of forests, rice paddies, several waterfalls and cliff face ridge.

Nature of people here

The people here are very friendly with rich in culture of Nepalese and Tibetian ethnic groups.
