Langshisha Ri Peak Climbing

Langshisha Ri is one of the difficult and technical mountains to climb which lies in the Langtang Himalayan range to the north west of Kathmandu. It has a height of about 6427 m above sea level. If you want more adventure then this mountain is suitable for you to climb. Langshisha Ri Peak Climbing Trip takes you to the majestic Langtang region of the Himalaya. This wonderful peak climbing adventure is one of the most adventurously beautiful climbing trips in the Langtang region. Starting trip from Syabrubesi (1462m) and follows the en route to Lama Hotel (2500m), Langtang Village (3,307m) and Kyanjing Gompa (3,798m). Thereafter, we take a hike to Langshisha Kharka (3850m), arriving at Langshisha Base Camp (4,325m). From there we ascend Lanshisha High Camp (5,310m). After a short climbing rehearsal, we climb Langshisha Ri Peak(6,427m).

About the Trek

Langtang trekking route crosses through the Langtang Valley, which offers you the views of beautiful Pine forest, through the rugged rock and swift mountain streams including the snow-capped peaks. During this trip you get a chance to explore the majestic charm of Langtang valley. The adventure trek that takes you to the peak through Langtang valley and Kyanjing Gompa lets you enjoy the Natural, Spiritual and the rich Culture of the region. By reaching Kyanjing Gompa, you will also have a chance to explore one of the oldest Buddhist monasteries and also hike to Tserko Ri standing 5,000 meters above sea level. After successful climbing of Langshisha Ri Peak, we climb down to Langshisha Ri Base Camp (4,325m). Then we trace back to Kyanjing Gompa (3,798m), Lama Hotel (2500m), and Syabru Bensi (1462m), arriving at Kathmandu (1164m), bringing the trekking to an end. 

One needs to be physically and mentally sound and good with proper endurance ability in order to keep going in the expedition. It offers several climbing routes from Kyanjin Gompa Valley. You will also get the opportunity to explore the scenic beauty of Langtang National Park where you can find different floras and faunas.  Acclimatization is very crucial at higher altitudes to ensure the successful summit climb and to avoid mental and physical sickness. Despite the technical challenges during the climbing process, the peak brings wonderful and memorable moments to cherish and make this adventure a dream-come-true adventure. Day 1- Kathmandu to Syabrubesi

The start of the trek begins with the 8 hours drive from Kathmandu valley to Syabrubesi. The Syabrubesi is the starting point of the trek. On the way, the trekkers can get the lovely views of the Trishuli rivers and its surrounding landscapes as well as local villages and hills. After reaching here trekkers can stay overnight and explore the Syabrubesi village. It lies on the altitude of about 1460 metres from sea level.

Day 2- Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

The trekking from this point starts with an uphill hike through the beautiful pine and rhododendron forest.  There is about an hour climb through the steep hill to reach an interesting and amazing place called Bamboo.  It is the place where trekkers take rest and have lunch to regenerate their body energy. The trail continues upwards through the bamboo forest to reach the final destination for today’s Lama Hotel which is the quiet famous area of this place.

Day 3- Lama Hotel to Mundu via Langtang Village

The Langtang village lies at the altitude of about 3430 metres from sea level. The trails start with the rhododendron and pine forests along with the scenic paths of waterfalls and landscapes. Nature will make you feel intrigued as you enter the interesting wide valley of Langtang. This is the home to the famous Langtang National Park which is the habitat to many wild lives. The trekkers stop at the famous GhodaTabela for lunch before heading towards the Langtang village and up the Langtang Valley to Mundu.

Day 4- Mundu to Kyanjin Gompa

The trek to the Kyanjin Gompa is relatively shorter than other trekking days. The trail passes through the watermills, chorten (Buddhist Shrines) and prayer wheels on the way to Kyanjin Gompa. The Kyanjin Gompa lies at the altitude of 3870 metres from the sea level. This route also acts as an acclimatization day before climbing Tserko Ri in the morning. The trekkers can explore the gompa and surrounding area and take in the mountain views in the afternoon.

Day 5- Kyanjin Gompa to Tserko Ri and Back to Kyanjin Gompa

The trekking approximately takes about 5- 6 hours to reach the summit of Tserko Ri. From here you can see the majestic and amazing views of Yala Peak 5520m, Langtang Ri 7205m, Langtang Lirung 7227m and Naya Khang 5844m. Here you can enjoy your packed lunch while enjoying the majestic views of the mountains and landscapes. After this, trekkers descend back to the Kyanjin Gompa where they will again spend the night.

Day 6- Kyanjin Gompa to Langshisha Kharka

You will start the adventure walk for the day towards Lanagshisha Kharka after relishing the breakfast with the awesomeness of the air in Kyanjin Gompa. Trekking to the higher altitude brings more fascinating views and marvelous wonders of the mountains. Upon reaching Langshisha Kharka, you can explore around and adjust yourselves with the thinning air.

Day 7- Trek to Langshisha Ri Base Camp

It’s a day to trek all the way to the base camp of Langshisha Kharka to stay overnight. Langshisha Ri peak climbing adventure is getting even more exciting as you trek closer towards the peak. After some incredible and joyful hours of trekking adventure, you will reach Langshisha Base camp and prepare the camp to stay overnight. You can laze around to explore and adjust with the elevation and climate there.

Day 8- Trek to High Camp

You will enjoy the breakfast with the fresh morning air at the base camp and get ready to trek up towards the high camp where you will stay overnight. This stay at the high camp will make your climbing adventure much easier in terms of distance and also help us to acclimatize to be able to climb 6,427 meters high climbing peak. After some strenuous trekking effort you will reach the high camp and settle aat the camp.

Day 9- Summit Langshisha Ri Peak

This is the highlight of the trip as you are going to climb the peak. You will start pretty early in the morning and struggle up towards the top. All set for some amazing alpine climbing experience, you will move slowly up towards the top. When you reach the summit after a great effort on the mountain, you can enjoy some breathtaking views of the mountains around. After spending some memorable moments at the top, you will start descending to the base camp to stay overnight.

The achievement of the summit of the peak is a great joy that brings so much satisfaction and marvelous experience of the alpine adventure.

Day 10- Trek to Kyanjin Gompa

After the summit adventure, it’s time to trek back and you will be heading to Kyanjin Gompa today. The trek back down to Kyanjin Gompa feels easier as compared to the adventure effort up the peak summit. You will reach Kyanjin Gompa at a relaxing pace and laze around once you are there.

Day 11- Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel

The trail is relatively long but straight forward so the trekkers can walk at their own pace. They gradually descend back to Lama Hotel through the rhododendron and pine forests and interesting villages. They can see the amazing view where mountains continue to dominate the sky of the Langtang valley.

Day 12- Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi

Syabrubesi will provide you with the opportunity to take the final photographs and memories from the Langtang region. The trekkers can enjoy this moment and appreciate their last day by enjoying the different Himalayan cuisines and drinks.  They will stay overnight here and prepare for the departure to the Kathmandu valley. 

Day 13- Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

This is the last day of the trek in Langtang Valley. The trekkers will bid farewell to the Langtang mountains and drive back to Kathmandu bringing wonderful memories and photographs with them.
