Before starting our Everest Trek, we require to take a short flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. This flight will be magnificent to view stunning Himalayan panoramas including Langtang and Everest. The Kathmandu valley, landscapes, the settlements, etc are beautiful to see from this smaller plane with a maximum of 19 seats. The flight takes 35 minutes to get Lukla.
Lukla Airport is also known as Tenjing – Hillary Airport. This airport is recognized as the most dangerous airport in the world. The airport is located in the lap of the mountain in Lukla town. The weather at Lukla airport constantly changes. So that the flights from Kathmandu, frequently, have to be either postponed and delayed. Those who are preparing to do Everest Base Camp Trekking are recommended to have some spare days in case the flight is disturbed.
Namche Bazaar is the center attraction of Everest Base Camp where we acclimatize. During our acclimatization at Namche, we explored Tibetan market, Sherpa Cultural Museum, beautiful settlement of Namche Bazar and hike up to Hotel Everest View and enjoy spectacular Khumjung village and mountain panorama including Mt. Everest, the top of the world. We also enjoy the beautiful Amadablam from Namche Bazar. The availability of internet, Wi-Fi, cozy restaurants and hotels make this acclimatization more relaxed.
Everest region is the abode to Sherpa people who are known as climbers. They are rich in culture and civilization. Buddhism is the major religious practice among these people. We can observe magnificent rituals, rites and festivals during our visit to Everest Base Camp. At the same time, we taste the flavor of organic and local food items of Sherpa people.
The Cuisine made by the Sherpa in the various regions of Everest is coming under the delicacy in Nepal. The Sherpa Cuisine is also eaten in the lower region of a country. As we can see abundant in the mountain regions including cuisine that is also celebrated with various types of food species prepared locally and also can be available barley, potatoes, and buckwheat. The habitat of this National park is endangered species like snow leopard, red pandas, hornbill, and so on. The park is home to about 3000 Sherpa people as well. This park is well preserved and is one of the beautiful places one can visit.
Everest Region consists of various peaks and mountains. If someone has to climb the highest mountains then, they can simply climb the highest mountain, the Mount Everest. But if one desires to conquer peaks, they will have the ideal choice of going for Mera Peak Climbing, Island Peak Climbing, and many others. For this, one must be habitual to walk and trek. Thus they are trained for several days to increase their capacity of walking and coping ability for easier climbing of peaks.
Monasteries and Gompa are those places where Buddhists people go for prayers and spiritual findings. These places have been famous for their approach of Buddhist monks with their spirituality and powers. One can find peace and harmony if they learn about these places and will make them calm and better. These sayings help tourists to go to monasteries. It provides an encounter with Sherpa people, their cultures, and traditions. Some of the monasteries found in Everest Region are monasteries at Khumjung, Thame Monastery, Tengboche Monastery, Pangboche Monastery, and many more unnamed ones. All of these monasteries carry their own attributes and specialties.
Kalapatthar is the best vantage point in Everest Base Camp Trekking. We climb Kalapatthar from Gorak Shep early in the morning before sunrise. It takes about an hour to get the top of the hillock facing directly to Pumori. We celebrate astonishing views of sunrise and mountain summits include Lao Tse, Nupse, Pumori and Mt. Everest, the top of the world.
This is the most interesting thing after reaching the Base camp of Everest.
