Ganesh Himal Trek

Ganesh Himal Trek is one of the adventurous and thrilling experiences that let you enjoy the panoramic views of many majestic mountains, local inhabitants, flat roofed fortresses like houses in remote villages and their beautiful culture. The Ganesh Himal Range on the Tibetan border is the complete wilderness and away from many of the trekkers. The mountain is named after the elephant- headed God of good fortune. The Ganesh Himal trek offers the views of Range peaks, Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV, Paldor and Children including the world 7th highest Mt. Manaslu ( 8163 m) and Langtang stand out like crystal and is the ”Great Himalayan Chain” that dominates the skyline. This trek is one of the Himalayas, guarded by 3 tiered pagodas set on a rocky steep sided gorge to pine forest and alpine meadows leading to a huge glacier below the snow capped peaks.

Culturally and naturally this is a very famous area away from tourists. In this Ganesh Himal trek, you will cross through high Sing La Pass and Pangsang La Pass which offer excellent views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang mountain and the Annapurna range.  This great Himalayan massif is contained between the valley of the Budhi Gandaki in the west and Bhote Koshi in the east, which becomes Trishuli Khola in the lower section. During the rest of your  trip, you can  observe the different ways of life, culture and come in contact with the rural people in the small village, passing through the dense forestations and meadows.

 Ganesh himal trek is  not frequently done by many tourists and it is situated in central Nepal, northwest of Kathmandu The terraced hillsides seem to climb to the sky. Many interesting ethnic groups with a mixed lifestyle offer you a glimpse into real Nepali life and this gives visitors an opportunity to observe the rich Nepalese cultural tradition from the closest quarter and intermingle with locals, hence giving the visitor a sense of satisfaction. Gorkha is situated on a hill overlooking the snowy peaks of the Himalaya is a beautiful old ancient place. There are two attractive temples of Gorakhnath and Kali inside the precinct. Besides its, the area also offers you an excellent habitat for a wide variety of plants and animals; 526 species of plants (including 40 species of orchids), and 300 species of birds. Other interesting wild animals are the Himalayan thar, gaur, many kinds of monkeys and musk deer.

Day 1 Kathmandu to Betrawati

You will drive toward the north of the Kathmandu valley via Trishuli Bazaar. During the journey, you will pass through famous hill stations Kakani and Ranipauwa where you can see the Langtang Himalayan range in close distance.

Day 2 Betrawati to Kispang

The real trekking starts from this point onward. You have to pass the trail of uphill and follow mostly the way gently up . The travelers can explore the stunning views of the grasslands, landscapes, hills and Himalayas. It provides you with the perfect opportunity to explore the local villages and their culture and traditions. After crossing these beautiful villages full of humble people, you will reach your destination Kispang.

Day 3 Kipsang to Thulo Chair

This is the pleasant and easy hike up to the Thulo Chair. You will gradually have to climb the uphill with the beautiful views of the forest, landscapes, grasslands, traditional houses and Himalayas. On the way you will pass the Tamang village and their culture and tradition.  You will also get the chance to encounter the ancient monastery and gorgeous natural waterfall. Then you will finally reach the Thulo Chair where you will stay for the night.

Day 4 Thulo Chaur to Gonga

The Gonga is situated at an altitude of 3000 meter from sea level. The hike to Gonga takes about 4 to 5 hours. At the beginning of the trek, you will have to walk uphill through the beautiful rhododendron forest which is the National Flower of our country Nepal. If you are travelling during the spring season, you can bless yourself with the amazing blooms of the rhododendron flowers all over the forest. From this point you could witness the spectacular views of Langtang, Lirung and Gosaikunda mountain ranges.

Day 5 Trek Ratchet to Shing La Pass to Cherma

It is the longest route of this trek. The trek would be a long day to finish so the travelers have to start early in the morning. But it is also an amazing and thrilling experience as you will see amazing mountain views with sunrise. When you reach on the crown which is the highest point in this trek. You will descend down to Cherma with the beautiful and amazing memories.

Day 6 Cherma to Meyghang

On this day you will follow the forest with juniper, pine trees and many other species. You will enjoy the stunning views of the lush green forest and beautiful landscapes.  On the way you will meet the village with Tamang Ethnic group with fabulous tradition and culture. 

Day 7 Meyghan to Darkha

You will begin your trek through the ascend path with the views of Ganesh Himal, Dense forest, waterfall, terrace farming  and farmlands. The travelers also have to cross the landslide area near the Jharlang. Darkha is the first Brahmin village you will encounter in this whole trip. You can enjoy the beautiful and stunning view of Aankhon stream at some distance.

Day 8 Darkha to Khahare Bazaar

The early part of your trek is descending up to Darkha Phedi and your route moves along the river bank until you reach Khahare There is a big market at Khahare Bazaar with lodges, tea shops, big school and other important buildings. This place is famous for magnificent views of the farming terrace.

Day 9 Exploration day at Khahare

This is the rest day for travelers. They can celebrate the achievement of this thrilling experience. There are many things to do for you today as there is school. You are welcome to visit the school and there is a river where we can go for swimming & fishing. Also you can visit the local market and know the lifestyle of the local people.

Day 10 Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu

The road till Dhadingbesi moves through unpaved road and then you drive along the well paved road until you reach Kathmandu It can be best defined as scenic journey due to the beautiful views of rivers, hills, terraces, forests and villages.

The Ganesh Himal Trek  is the shortest route trek with the unspoiled environment and surrounding by the people. You can enjoy the beautiful views of the rhododendron forest, pines, junipers along with the scenic canvas of the waterfall, mountain ranges and hill stations. The trek lets you encounter the beautiful and social villagers and their distinct culture and traditions.
