Chath Puja

After the five day long Diwali merriments, it is time for the promising Chath Puja. It is one of the foremost noticeable celebrations of Bihar. Chath Puja could be a four-day-long celebration that’s celebrate on the 6th day of Kartik month as per the Hindu calendar. This year, Chath Puja will be celebrate from October 31 to November 3. Men and ladies on these days watch a quick and offer supplication to the Sun God and Chathi Mata, who as per stories is the sister of the Sun God. Katyayani Devi, the 6th incarnation of Goddess Durga, is consider to be the shape of Chath Mata. It is one of the foremost promising and hardest celebrations, where lovers have to be watch “nirjala quick” (not indeed permit to drink water) for 36-40 hours.

Chath Puja could be a four-day-long celebration. The primary day starts with the custom of “Nahay Khay”. On this day individuals clean their house, take a bath and get ready a uncommon feast. Which is eat up by the complete family. The fasting starts on the moment day of Chath Puja, called “Kharna.” On this day lovers keep quick for the whole day and eat within the evening after advertising supplication to the Sun god. A uncommon prasad is ready that incorporates Rasiao-kheer. The third day is called “Sandhya Argh”. On this day lovers watch quick and supplicate to the setting Sun. The fourth and the final day of Chath Puja is called Usha Argh and Paran. Where lovers pay their respect to the rising sun, after which they break their quick.

Devotees observe nirjala fasts (do not even drink water) and offer prayers to Lord Sun and his sister Goddess Chath Mata . By bathing in the holy water in the nearest river to them. They offer sweets, fruits to the God of light and wish for health and prosperity. They worship the setting and the rising sun. Devotees wear new clothes, sleep on the ground on a mat and are not even allow to drink water.
