Shey Phoksundo National Park

Shey Phoksundo National Park is located in nortwest Nepal in Dolpa District. This Park is the largest National park of Nepal. It is extended with the total area of 3,555 square km. It is around 3611m high from the sea level. The National Park will give a view of nature, fabulous, trekking trails and landscapes. From the name Shey Phoksundo it consit of the Phoksundo lake. It is the deepest lake of Nepal. It is 145m(476 feet) deep.

The vegetation are of wide variety here. In the lower altitude we can see Pine, Walnut, Willow, Oak, Poplar and Cypress. And in higher altitude of the park we can see Spruce, Juniper and Birch. Shey Phoksundo National Park conserves over 200 species of birds, six species of reptiles, 29 species of butterfly and home to different wild animals such as Snow Leopard, Wild Dog, Marmot, Weasel, Rhesus Monkey, Musk deer, Ghoral, Sheep, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Thar, Jackal etc

The Shey Phoksundo National Park is also one of the enlisted trekking destination. It is rich with mountainious trails so lots of tourist visit over there for the trekking. If you wish to visit the Shey Phoksundo National park for trekking you can find lots of Travel agencies for the help.

HOW TO GET THERE

The easiest way to reach National Park is by air travel. Flying to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu and again flying from Nepalgunj to the Juphal airport in Dolpa. After the air travel around half day walk need to be done to reach the National park entrance Suligad.
