White Gumba

The white ghumba or white monastry lies on the north of the Kathmandu valley. White gumba is also known as Druk Amitabh Mountain. It is one of the attraction in Kathmandu valley due to beauty. The gumba is open for any visitors. It belongs to the female monks. The gumba is situated at the top hill from where a great scenery of the Kathmandu valley can be seen. White Gumba is very giant monastry which is rich in Tibetan art, architecture and Buddhist culture. The sticks smell, chanting sound, playing flag helps you to make your mind calm and peace. If you are not a nonreligious person then the panoramic view of Kathmandu Valley makes you fall in love with this place.

The white gumba was under construction after the 2072 earthquake but now it is open for the public and tourists. The place is also refreshing and its very good for the meditation as well. People often visit the gumba for taking photographs(not inside temple) and sightseings. It will cost around 40 Nepali Rupee to enter the gumba.

How to reach there

No any public vehicle is available to reach there. People take their private vehicle or motorbikes to reach there. You can use the app like Tootle, Pathao, Superapp etc to reach the white gumba. The white guma is 3km away from the Swayambhu chowk. People also prefer to trek to reach to the gumba. During the way to white gumba we can enjoy the sights of pine forests, hills and mountains.
