The Swyambhunath Temple

Swyambhunath Temple is one of the place to visit on the Kathmandu Valley. The temple is a sacred place for the Buddhist people. The temple is located on the west of Kathmandu valley. Due to the temple the place around it is also knwon as Swyambhu. The temple is just at the side of the city ring road. The temple consist of a large area which also includes a full hill. The hill is surrounded by the jungles and monkeys. Thus it is also known as the monkey temple.

Swyambhunath Temple area consist of lots of stupas, big statues and monastries. The entrance consot of three big statues of buddhas. The temple was once struct by a lightining and also hit by the massive 2015 earthquake. But now the temples are all renovated. There are lots of artifact shop around the temple. Also tourist can visit a small museum at the top of the temple. The place is famous for both the local and international visitors. A great view of the whole kathmandu valley can be seen from the top of the hill. Lots of people visit here to enjoy the view. One can see lots of monks having prayers.

How to reach there

The temple is just at the side of the city ring road. So it is not hard to get there. One can easily take a local bus and reach there.
