Chath Puja

Rituals

Chath Puja could be a four-day-long celebration. The primary day starts with the custom of “Nahay Khay”. On this day individuals clean their house, take a bath and get ready a uncommon feast. The fasting starts on the moment day of Chath Puja, called “Kharna.” On this day lovers keep quick for the whole day and eat within the evening after advertising supplication to the Sun god. Chath Puja Vidhi

Devotees observe nirjala fasts (do not even drink water) and offer prayers to Lord Sun and his sister Goddess Chath Mata . By bathing in the holy water in the nearest river to them. They offer sweets, fruits to the God of light and wish for health and prosperity. They worship the setting and the rising sun. Devotees wear new clothes, sleep on the ground on a mat and are not even allow to drink water.
